When Should You Call A Certified Electrician?

If your circuit breaker trips frequently, then you will need to call a certified electrician. It is normal for a circuit breaker to trip from time to time. However, if your circuit breaker is frequently tripping, then this is a sign that your breaker cannot keep up with the demands that are being put on it.

You will need to call an electrician if your lights keep flickering. Your appliances may be drawing too much power. If you have a lot of extension cords in your home, then it is time for you to call a professional. You may need to have more outlets added to your home.

If you have appliances that require three prongs and all of your outlets have two prongs, then it is time for you to call an electrician. Most older homes have two prongs. Two prongs are not only an inconvenience, but this can also be a sign that your electrical system is not fully-grounded. This is a safety concern.

If your plugs are warm to the touch, then you will need to call an electrician. You may have aluminum wiring, which is a safety hazard. Your home likely has aluminum wiring if it was built between 1965 and 1975.

If you do not have any ground fault circuit interrupters, then you need an electrician. GFCIs are designed to prevent electrocution. Your service panel may need to be replaced if it has rust on it. This has to be done by an electrician.

Additionally, if your home is over the age of 25, then you need the help of an electrician. You may need to have your electrical system upgraded.
